Bremen, Germany
Casino Futur by Christian Buck of Gruppe GME architekten is a modern interpretation of the Wilhelminian town of Bremen. The building emphasizes the distinct architecture and ornamentation in this narrow inner-city context, through the distinct design of its façade.

Casino Futur has been awarded a 2023 Future House Award by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design.
Although the house is rather small, it acts beyond its size measured in square meters as a clear statement of modern architecture.

This is further underlined by the innovative way it is used. The floors up to the 2nd floor are used intensively as a think tank and community hub under the name “Casino Futur.”

The “Salon” on the ground floor, with its visible public area created by the large window, invites the residents of the district to a new communication and contributes with its events to a more intensive interaction.
The small terrace in front of the house is included and used as a new living area and meeting point.

The apartment, which also has a roof terrace on the 3rd floor, fulfills the demand for contemporary urban living. A large corner window opens the living area to the city, which rises to almost six meters in height and allows a generous view over the rooftops of Bremen.
The building also makes a clear statement for sustainable architecture with its air heat pump, rainwater use, and green roof.
