Arese (MI), Italy
Designed by Marco Tencone and Andrea Loi at the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio will become the new flagship of the Carabinieri Benemerita fleet.
It can be said to be a weapon of the Arma: a three-volume sedan, linked to a long and noble tradition, which offers track performance and unique emotions.
This new fleet of 1,7000 Alfa Romeo Giulias reinforces the historic partnership between Alfa Romeo and the Carabinieri, born after World War II when all the “Gazelles” had the Biscione logo.
The first Alfa Romeo of the Arma was the 1900 M “Matta” in 1951.
A year later, the Gazelle was born with the 1900 sedan.
In the language of the weapon, the Gazelle represents the concept of prompt intervention: fast, agile, and resistant.
Its direct descendant was the Giulia of the sixties, it proposed avant-garde concepts managing to combine excellent engine performance with high-reliability qualities.
The car was well integrated into the structural renewal of the weapon, completed by the brand new radiotelephone sets connected to the Operations Centers, which were the flagship of the weapon.
The vehicle was used from 1963 to 1968.
Since then the close link between the Arma and Alfa Romeo has continued over the years with increasingly aggressive and reliable cars: from the Alfa Romeo Alfetta to the Alfa Romeo 90, from the Alfa Romeo 75 to ‘Alfa Romeo 155, from the Alfa Romeo 156 to the Alfa Romeo 159, up to the exceptional Giulia Quadrifoglio, a symbol of the excellent technological know-how and the best creative spirit of our country.
At the heart of the matter, moreover, is that the Guilia derives its technologies and technical skills from Ferrari.
It is a 2.9-liter V6, with two turbines, which deliver a maximum power of 510 cavalli and a peak torque of 600 Nm. I think no further comments are needed.
Performance is at the top, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds and with a top speed of 307 km/h.
Predominantly intended for special services, these vehicles of the “snake” in institutional livery put their sportiness at the service of particular interventions, such as the transport of organs and blood, or of important institutional ceremonies.
Among the specific features are the defibrillator, special portable cooling units, Odino system, additional emergency devices, long weapon holder and rechargeable LED flashlights located in the passenger compartment.
