Then after assembling it with frames, blades and planes are used for the hand finishing of the complex curve, which is sought out carefully to give comfort to human body in any position you take.

It feels soft, even though it is made of wood, and The organic form and the comfortability fascinate many people.
We believe that our skills to mass produce this sofa, by hand, with the quality of one-of-a-kind piece, is a value no one could imitate.
From his apprenticeship, Matsuoka has been pursuing to make a comfortable seating tool with materials like solid wood that is hard and non-stretchable.

What he is aiming is the comfortability, and carving and shaping are the keys to making that happen.
Every Angle and the complex inclination from the back to elbows all have a meaning. Every shaping has its meaning.
You could slide your back and lean anywhere without any discomfort. Also, position, height and angle of elbows are as important as where your back hits.
Why he uses wood is that there are all sorts of new materials around, but that would one day become outdated. But wood is an invariant material, so it would never get old.
