For its innovative design, ViVi Rack has recently been awarded a 2022 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
ViVi helmets are the core of ViVi® system, a medical protection system that protects the patient and the surgeon against contamination.
Each helmet contains two fans that allow a high-performance air exchange through the filter of the protecting suit.
The brief of the ViVi Rack project called for an easy way to safely store ViVi helmets when not in use.
It was not originally envisioned that helmets are prone to accidental falling or crashing when abandoned on shelves, tables, or chairs in surgical dressing rooms.
Paramount was diverting the user from any hooking of the helmet as incorrect hooking may cause distortion or breakage to the lightweight structure of the helmet.
ViVi Rack can be attached without tools to all kinds of walls thanks to four double-sided high-strength adhesive stickers.
A helmet can be easily placed on or picked up from the Rack with a single-handed movement.
ViVi Racks hold helmets in clean conditions and keep them at easy reach while not cluttering the dressing room.
The Rack keeps the helmet safely in place even in case of an accidental impact.
ViVi Rack feaures a safe and hook-less design.
No part of the product offers “hooks” or other details that can injure users or damage helmets.
The shape of the main body of the Rack matches the silhouette of the helmet, hinting at the correct position of the helmet on the Rack.
The top edge of the Rack is designed to serve as reference for levelling the Rack while attaching it to a wall.
Easy-to-recycle by design; a single joint-less piece of Poly-methyl meth-acrylate (PMMA) makes end-of-life processing the easiest.
The Rack precisely fits into the same package as the helmet.
Thus, any additional waste of packaging material is avoided.
It features efficient production as 300 item can be obtained from a standard 2000×3000 mm board.
Vivi Rack boasts a monolithic joint-less design; a single piece of PMMA is modeled into the final shape with just one bending operation.
Even the liners of the graphics stickers match the contour of the Rack, thus, the application is easier and quicker than using positioning fixtures.
