Thailand-based Modernform Group creates, manufactures, and launches a series of occasional sidekick tables ideal for people on the go and for those who seek to have a comfortable and familiar personal space while working in public.
This ingenious design project has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The m.any table fulfills multiple functions and can be moved to any space and for any occasion, both for personal and public use.
Given their lightweight, easily movable, and space-saving qualities with a unique combination of different colors and materials, they can reflect one’s true self through their unique appearances and functions.
Following the concept of “sustainable design”, the table has been designed immaculately and impeccably through simple, uncomplicated lines and curves.
They are made only from absolutely essential materials, such as MDF (Medium-density fibreboard) and Acrylic solid surface material, from furniture waste, in order to create new value for the product in the concept of ‘Circular Design’.
This in turn helps reduce waste, while saving resources and energy.
The m.any sidekick table comes in two types of multifunction handles: a bottle opener, designed to be artfully hidden and exist compatibly between the handle and table structure, and a cup/glass holder that can hold the suspended glass with comfort, and also helps lift the holder to stand proportionately avoiding an accidental knocking down of the cup, increasing also tabletop space.
Its structure is a delicate, light, and slim wireframe of the table leg, emanating from the metal bending process, producing a strong and stable table leg base for better weight support.
The wireframe structure which utilizes the same design and only necessary materials creates a multifunctional table with a light handle that can be easily raised and can also be moved for both indoor-outdoor use.
There is also a hook with a non-slip O-ring silicone which enables hanging personal items.
The m.any table, with its lightweight and easily movable multifunction, the use of otherwise unavailable spaces is made possible.
