The Build Makerspace Table, designed by the HON design and engineering team, is created accommodating different learning and teaching styles with consideration for the unique needs of each subject environment within the STEAM curriculum.
Build Makerspace Table’s design has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
A maker space is a collaborative workspace inside a school, library, or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring, and sharing that uses high-tech to no-tech tools.
These spaces are also helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st-century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
With rapidly shifting education styles and science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) classrooms/curriculum, the need for various types of learning environments is required across all age ranges within a facility or multiple facilities in a district.
This requires flexible and adaptable solutions to accommodate the ways students learn.
Continued research into the way pupils absorb and retain information is creating a push for furniture that will serve those different learning styles.
This table accommodates endless types of builder projects and is built tough to support 1,200 lbs. of static load while fully accessorized.
The worksurface top can be easily removed, if necessary, to fit through standard door openings and comes in a standard laminate offering as well as a thick butcherblock.
Build Makerspace Table uses durable tubing frame construction that can be configured simply or fully outfitted with features including seated and standing heights;
42” x 60” and 42”x72” worksurfaces; heavy-duty casters for mobility; multiple invigorating powder-coated colors; ability to add 3”, 6”, or 12” translucent storage bins; and end panels that are either whiteboard/magnetic or slotted pegboard to accommodate HON accessories as well as aftermarket accessories.
