Zeekr 001 by Stefan Rosén, Lynk & Co Design and CEVT AB for Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is an almost imposing, athletic, while at the same time elegant, electric vehicle crossover. 

Zeekr 001 was awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

With a unique identity, the Zeekr 001 is easily recognizable.

As an electric car, this platform gave the design team an opportunity to imagine new proportions. 

They purposely choose the crossover form that cannot be easily categorized, making it all that more interesting. 

A fundamental direction was that the beholder doesn’t recognize right away that it’s an electrical car by its exterior design. 

Instead, an overall simple and clean design language was used without many focal points. 

The goal is for people to see the vehicle as a whole, not the parts.

Changing the power source to batteries set the scene for a new driving experience regarding roominess and sound environment. 

The vision to create something that will be perceived as quiet, calm, and clean started from that. 

In order for it to be totally silent, the designers worked with long, smooth, elegant lines.

Ambient light connects the doors and instrument panel. 

In most cars, this is a forgotten, dark zone, but for the 001, it is highlighted as a main feature, creating a welcoming, high-tech feeling.

The designers also translated the movement to the gear shifter, which now moves horizontally, more like a DJ’s sound table.

The Midnight Blue and Polar White interior is a fresh take on automotive trends and adds to the calm feeling of the interior’s formal language.

Overall, 001 is a premium electric car, with its quality in the details.
