French natural skincare Typology appoints Snøhetta to design a dedicated space in the heart of the French capital, mixing the brand’s minimalistic identity and the architects’ Nordic aesthetic.

Staying true to the brand’s ethos of simplifying products and focusing each formula on essential ingredients, which is reflected in its packaging featuring raw aluminum, Snøhetta drew inspiration from Typology’s packaging design for creating the interior of their inaugural space.
By integrating undulations in the central metal structure, reminiscent of the product’s texture post-use, Typology achieves a striking mix of color and material in the space. Vibrant rows of shelving showcase the products, complemented by bold orange accents that add vibrancy and contrast to the sleek counters.
Prior to the debut of its permanent space, Snøhetta collaborated with Copenhagen-based Natural Material Studio to craft a Typology pop-up store at the main entrance of Printemps Haussmann.

“This project also shows our constant desire to collaborate. We found the perfect harmony between material and concept by working with Natural Material Studio. The corner and the pop-up emphasize materiality, not fussy detailing, in line with Typology’s natural approach,” says Oliver Page, Managing Director, Snøhetta Paris.
Designed to offer visitors a preview of Typology’s inaugural physical presence, the installation drew inspiration from Japanese theatre, focusing on spectacle and visual aesthetics.
They quickly extended Typology’s green philosophy to Natural Material Studio’s bio-textiles, crafting custom display objects for Typology’s products, utilizing a distinctive handcrafted bio-textile process, the objects incorporate natural ingredients and pigments.
