Smeg expands its range of household appliances with the introduction of a new line of electric barbecues, designed to deliver high-performance cooking and seamless integration into various outdoor environments such as terraces, balconies, and gardens.
Electric BBQ by Smeg SpA, won a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.
Available in three sizes (60 cm, 90 cm, and 120 cm), the new barbecues stand out for their refined design and stainless steel finish, combining contemporary aesthetics with professional-grade functionality.
The project is based on five key principles: modularity, safety, hygiene, ease of use, and energy efficiency.
Each unit consists of a basic module comprising a grill, heating element, and drip tray, which can be configured according to the available space by choosing between one, two, or three cooking zones.
The insulated double basin and double-walled lid ensure excellent heat management and a high level of safety during use.
A practical stainless steel splash guard and a removable lid with an easy-to-use locking system further enhance user and environmental protection during cooking.
Special attention has also been paid to ease of maintenance: the sloped grill surfaces facilitate liquid drainage, while the grease collection trays are easily accessible thanks to a tilting mechanism that allows the grills to be lifted effortlessly.
From a performance perspective, the new Smeg electric barbecues are equipped with heating elements in direct contact with the grills, ensuring rapid and even heat distribution while maintaining low energy consumption.
The electronic temperature control, managed by a dedicated probe placed beneath the grills, allows precise and independent regulation for each module, enhancing flavour during cooking.
The cooking area design, featuring a rear opening for smoke dispersion and backlit control knobs, facilitates operation even for less experienced users while maintaining high ergonomic standards.
