Wiesbaden, Germany
Roger Christ and Ronni Neuber of CHRIST.CHRIST. associated architects have designed a new stark, high-tech modern laboratory for Abbott GmbH as a place for filling and packaging diagnostic products.
The lab was integrated into the existing production hall during ongoing operations.
Since some of the products are serum of human origin, the filling process is carried out in a laboratory of protection level 2.
In order to produce under aseptic conditions, a class 8 clean room with an integrated class 5 clean area was created.
The installation was carried out during ongoing operations, which required extensive protective measures in the existing production hall.
Christ.Christ. has been working for Abbott Laboratories since 1979. Within the course of this collaboration, administration, laboratory, warehouse and production buildings have up until today been created in diverse building phases across the 7-hectare construction site.
Abbott Laboratories has been represented in Germany since the middle of the 1960s. In Wiesbaden, approximately 1,900 people are employed.
This location is the Management Headquarters for all commercial activities in Europe, namely
pharmaceuticals, hospital products, medical nutrition, medical products and diagnostics.
