New York, USA
“Even among all the great architecture in New York, there is something particularly special about the buildings along Central Park West overlooking the park,” stated Alexander Lamis, RAMSA Partner who co-leads the firm’s Product Design.
“We wanted to celebrate the things that make Central Park West great—the tradition, the history and the glamour.”
Designed by Robert Stern, Central Park West is a new collection of the sink and bath fixtures and fittings for Kallista.
The collection’s sophisticated early twentieth-century design, created to easily transition between traditional and contemporary interiors, features highly stylized characteristics and detail work—including knurling, fluting, and monogram-style lettering.
Embracing the distinctive design details and the air of handcraft that seems to harken back to the elegance and glamour of an earlier era, the sink faucet with an arch spout and fluted lever handles seamlessly fits into any traditional bathroom aesthetic.
The fittings are created to easily transition between traditional and contemporary interiors, features highly stylized characteristics and detail work—including knurling, fluting, and monogram-style lettering.
“The serif font we chose for the faucet markings derives from hand-chiseled lettering on classical monuments dating back to antiquity; it has over many centuries come to signify the timeless connection between the past and present,” added Dan Lobitz, co-leader of the firm’s Product Design with Lamis.
