Swedish start-up Vidde Mobility collaborates with the renowned Italian design house Pininfarina to change the winter mobility as we know it by designing the Vidde Alfa, the first sustainable all electric snowmobile.

The Vidde Alfa aims to redefine snowmobility by reducing its carbon footprint to less than 100g CO2/km – a significant improvement compared to conventional snowmobiles, which emit around 550g CO2/km.
For its sustainable design, the Vidde Alfa Electric Snowmobile has recently been awarded a 2024 Green Good Design Award and a 2024 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The innovative design, developed in collaboration with Pininfarina, prioritizes not only the pure pleasure of using the vehicle, but also focuses on durability and functionality.
The Vidde Alfa snowmobile is equipped with a battery system featuring an internal thermal mechanism designed to enable operation in arctic conditions, ensuring functionality at temperatures as low as -39°C.
Vidde Mobility’s CEO Christian Lystrup emphasizes the company’s commitment to sustainability, aligning with the worldwide shift towards fossil-free transportation.

The Swedish startup aims to contribute to the transition to a fossil-free transportation sector, meticulously choosing partners and components that resonate with this vision.
The initiative to electrify snowmobiles, such as the Vidde Alfa, presents significant opportunities for Swedish Lapland, where snowmobiles are essential for navigating the extensive landscape.

By switching to electric vehicles, the region could see a reduction in CO2 emissions and lower noise pollution, positively affecting nature and wildlife. This shift aligns with the region’s sustainability goals for 2030, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
The production of the Vidde Alfa is set to commence towards the end of 2024.
