Raindrop is an integrated acoustic panel and lighting solution designed by British studio Jones & Partners in collaboration with Feltouch, developed to improve acoustic comfort, visual quality, and environmental performance in contemporary interior spaces.
Inspired by the rhythmic movement of rain across the British landscape, the design translates nature’s repetitive and calming patterns into a vertical surface language that interacts with sound and light. This approach creates balanced and human-centered spatial experiences, particularly in environments where acoustic control is essential.
Raidrop, Acoustic Wall Panel And Acoustic Wall Lamp by Jones + Partners, won a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.

The sculpted form of Raindrop is produced using advanced molding technology, allowing precise vertical grooves that enhance sound absorption and help reduce reverberation time. These grooves break up sound waves, supporting clearer speech and improved concentration, while simultaneously creating visual depth through the interaction of light and shadow. Felt inserts further strengthen acoustic performance, enabling the product to function efficiently in offices, meeting rooms, hospitality spaces, and educational environments.
Raindrop is manufactured from PET felt containing 50% recycled plastic bottles, without the use of chemical binders, and with low VOC emissions. This material choice contributes to healthier indoor air quality while giving a second life to post-consumer plastic waste. In material terms, each 60×60 cm panel reuses the equivalent of 3 pieces of 16.9 fl oz recycled PET bottles, while each 60×120 cm panel reuses 6 pieces of 16.9 fl oz recycled PET bottles, providing a clear and measurable environmental impact.
Production processes are designed to minimize environmental impact through low water consumption and the use of renewable energy sources. Felt scraps generated during production are recycled and reused in new acoustic materials, supporting a circular economy approach.

Available in illuminated and non-illuminated versions, Raindrop integrates lighting directly into the acoustic panel, eliminating the need for additional fixtures. The integrated lighting system is based on energy-efficient LED technology, minimizing energy consumption while delivering consistent visual comfort and long-term performance. The lighting is compatible with DALI, Casambi, and On-Off controls and offers 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K color temperature options, allowing flexibility across different spatial and functional requirements.
Modular dimensions of 60×60 cm and 60×120 cm, combined with 53 color options, enable adaptable compositions that support spatial zoning and architectural identity. Raindrop meets A Class fire performance requirements, is certified in accordance with ASTM E84, and complies with EN 13501-1 fire classification B-s1,d0, ensuring high fire safety performance, limited smoke production, and no flaming droplets for use in commercial and public interiors.
Raindrop’s acoustic performance is verified through independent, certified laboratory tests in accordance with European and American standards. Designed for easy installation, disassembly, and relocation, the product supports long-term use and adaptability in changing interiors. With a 10-year warranty and a design approach focused on durability, reuse, and responsible material use, Raindrop represents a holistic example of green good design, where nature-inspired form, engineering precision, and sustainable production come together to enhance both environmental and spatial quality.
