Shenzhen, China
Located in the heart of Shenzhen’s Qianhai district, a rapidly developing area, the new Conrad Shenzhen designed by James Zheng of the Goettsch Partners is a luxury 300-key property that features cascading amenity floors and landscaped roof gardens along its western side, oriented to provide views of the adjacent green belt and Qianhai Bay.

The design reflects a blend of cutting-edge design and functionality, offering a prestigious location.
The project has been awarded a 2024 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
With the parcel bordering the expressway on the south end, the Conrad tower and signage are prominent and visible from a great distance in the surrounding context.
The Conrad Shenzhen likely connects with the city’s public spaces and infrastructure, blending with the district’s transit systems and urban networks.
It may include public areas or green spaces that make it accessible and inviting beyond just hotel guests.

The unusual triangular site and challenging setbacks led to a unique design that optimizes views, program location, and outdoor amenities.
The tower features an offset core, providing a majority of the hotel rooms with views of the bay.
A tiered podium defines outdoor space for the ballroom, as well as rooftop areas for the bar, dining, and pool.

A large porte cochère welcomes guests at the ground level and features large-scale sculptures and landscaping that help create a serene, elegant atmosphere within the bustling city.
The guestrooms feature large floor-to-ceiling windows that take advantage of the bay views, and a variety of sophisticated amenities and dining options define the hotel as a prime destination.
The façade design recalls the textures and undulating movement of traditional woven products of the region.
A material palette of high-end, warm-toned materials provides a sense of understated luxury, with touches of traditional Chinese patterns and refined detail throughout.
