JANUS et Cie debuts the Orchid Lounge Chair with Ottoman, part of a new sculptural lounge seating group by acclaimed Italian design team Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba.
Orchid Lounge Chair with Ottoman by Palomba Serafini Associati, won a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.

Orchid features an innovative, fluid and seamless, contemporary silhouette comprised of generous curves and striking angles.
Inspired by the Vanda orchid, the national flower of Singapore and a symbol of beauty and prosperity, Orchid’s ergonomic forms cradle the body and appear almost as if exquisitely draped fabric were frozen in time and space.
The Orchid Lounge Chair and Ottoman are crafted from handwoven JANUSfiber over a powder coated aluminum frame and are available in two finishes: Limestone/Limestone, a monochromatic pairing of smooth and grained white fibers; and Limestone/Palladium, a geometric weave of smooth white and grey fibers in a stunning herringbone pattern.

Skilled artisans and experts in the craft of traditional weaving were called upon to create the latter colorway, as the chevron-like weave requires exacting detail to achieve successfully.
Esteemed Milan-based architects and designers, Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba were inspired by their passion for nature and flora, specifically, in envisioning the Orchid collection.
Their organic concept was one of functional and enduring profiles that open like petals, grounded with the aim of highlighting the craftsmanship necessary to create and convey the idea of a welcoming and sensual object.
