Nendo, in collaboration with The Pokémon Company, designed Pokémon Mosaic, a collection of colorful daily household items.
Pokémon is a worldwide phenomenon that has fascinated the world since its original video game launch in 1996.
The series has also been widely developed beyond video games, including animated series, movies, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, merchandise, and more.
While there are many products featuring Pokémon, nendo decided to design this collection for grown-ups, as the first generation of Pokémon fans have now reached adulthood but remain fans at heart.
Instead of using the original shapes of Pokémon, the design focuses on the colors, which were first extracted from each and muted to match the interior space.
Circles, triangles, squares, and other geometric shapes were used as design elements, to give a subtle sense of Pokémon inspiration.
The result is abstract and sophisticated designs similar to mosaic tiles and stained glass.
The 75-piece collection includes cushions, wall clocks, and bags, as well as tableware, such as glasses and plates.
