Mohawk presents the new UltraWood Naturally Sustainable flooring which has a natural hardwood feeling and at the same time is eco-friendly as it needs less natural wood to be produced, having the ability to remove carbon from the air and store it in a beautiful long-lasting floor.

UltraWood Naturally Sustainable’s sustainable concept recently won a 2022 Green Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Mohawk’s UltraWood is a revolutionary leap forward in sustainable flooring and an ideal solution for people who want a sustainable alternative to traditional hardwood.
The UltraWood Naturally Sustainable is naturally sustainable as it is manufactured by providing 10x more flooring and using 90 percent recycled wood.
“As trees grow, they sequester carbon. When the tree is turned into UltraWood, the carbon stays locked away in the finished materials.”As trees grow, they sequester carbon,” states Seth Arnold, vice president of marketing of Mohawk Industries.
“UltraWood encompasses everything that they believe in and more, providing the utmost of quality for consumers and their homes,” he continues.

Additionally, the UltraWood manufacturing process delivers 10x more natural hardwood per log when compared to traditional hardwood flooring production.
For instance, in a 2,500-square-foot home, it only takes 2.5 logs to floor the entire space with UltraWood compared to 25 logs to floor the entire space with traditional wood.
Since natural wood is the primary raw material used in UltraWood, the floors are 100 percent renewable.
With Mohawk’s recycling platform opening new opportunities to create and support an emerging circular flooring economy, 90 percent of the wood used to create the impact-resistant boards of UltraWood is recycled from post-industrial wood.
Not only durable and sustainable, but UltraWood also includes some of Mohawk’s best-known technologies such as Everlast, WetProtect, and EasyClean.
UltraWood is domestically produced at the company’s Danville facility in Virginia, reducing the carbon footprint and contributing to the local community.
UltraWood is also SCS FloorScore certified. The FloorScore Indoor Air Quality Certification ensures that flooring has been independently certified by SCS to comply with the volatile organic compound emissions criteria of the California Section 01250 Program.
Any product that has met these stringent standards is a product that will contribute to good indoor air quality.
