Developed by the Mitsubishi Motors Design Team, the Outlander gets a complete upgrade, with a drive mode selector that contributes to the safer and more secure road performance.

A newly developed platform and 2.5L engine updated electronically controlled 4WD and S-AWC (SuperAll Wheel Control) system.
The design concept is “Bold Stride,” representing a bold, adventurous attitude and confidence to move forward.
The project has been awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The strong, horizontal-themed proportion from front to rear, the contrast of broad and energetic surface and character lines with sharp edges, as well as the large-diameter 20-inch wheels and muscular fenders that emphasize a bold aura, a sense of presence, and stability of the wide body.
The face design identity of DYNAMIC SHIELD highlights the all-new Outlander’s powerfulness as an SUV while expressing strong performance and protection of both the people and the vehicle.

The daytime running lights and turn signals in thin and sharp appearance were positioned in the upper part to improve their visibility by oncoming vehicles and pedestrians.
The headlights were placed beneath them to illuminate the road ahead more brightly, and they were set toward the outside to show the widebody looks even wider.
A hexagon motif that appears to have been cut from a single surface ornament the tailgate. This unique and sophisticated shape was inspired by the rear-mounted spare tire of the Pajero/Montero and symbolizes the SUV’s toughness and reliability.

The hexagon’s upper half expresses stability while the lower half shows off-road capability. Further, the horizontal-themed T-shaped taillights indicate the width of the body to look wide and stable.
A linear instrument panel with a powerful horizontal theme gives the vehicle a spacious and roomy look while producing a functional aspect that makes it easy to sense the vehicle’s attitude.

The interior is equipped with items that give the vehicle a high-quality feel surpassing its class. The bold grip of the steering wheel is shaped to provide a firm grasp for reliable operation, and the same taste is incorporated into the shift selector.
L-shaped illumination is set around the inner door handle, not just to be decorative but to be functional, to make it easy to find and operate the door opener even in the dark. All of these were adopted to deliver a sense of clarity and sturdiness.
Attention to detail and the feeling of hospitality are also evident by such amenities as each seat being provided with a smartphone holder.
