With the world spending the better part of the last year in a pandemic-forced lockdown, more people are working remotely than ever before.
And while plenty of folks have just taken to converting a corner of their home into an office, other folks have taken the opportunity to get a bit more mobile — packing up into trailers and RVs and hitting the road.
Now, for those who don’t want to sacrifice luxury in the name of mobility, there’s a new contender in the form of Airstream’s new Flying Cloud 30FB Office Travel Trailer.
Designed by McKay Featherstone VP Product Development and Engineering for Airstream, the Flying Cloud lineup, the 30FB Office Travel Trailer has all the amenities folks have come to expect — including ample storage for a small family, a functional kitchenette, a hybrid dining sleeping area, a spacious main bedroom, a full bath, and more.
The Flying Cloud 30FB Office features all the amenities necessary to both work and play on the road, an increasingly popular option among both entrepreneurs and nomadic workers.
But it also has a bevy of upgrades that include the likes of dedicated office space, USB power ports around the desk area, an expandable desktop, windows with blackout curtains, organizers, and the list just keeps going.
A dedicated office space and desk offer plenty of room for a laptop and other desktop necessities. Multiple USB ports and a pop-up USB/AC outlet supported by the onboard 1000 watt power inverter allow digital nomads to keep everything charged up.
Sliding drawers and storage cubbies keep everything organized. The Flying Cloud Office’s overhead storage cabinets are surfaced with dry-erase material to help capture ideas.
The office area comes complete with a comfortable swivel chair that secures with a strap during travel and a chair mat to protect the floor and enhance comfort.
When the work is done, the office area converts into additional sleeping and relaxing space for one.
“The Flying Cloud 30FB Office is a travel trailer designed for our present while anticipating our future,” said Featherstone.
“Intensive product development, owner feedback, and the challenges and opportunities resulting from the recent shifts in how we live came together to shape the design of the Flying Cloud 30FB Office.”
“We know that the work landscape will forever be changed by the pandemic,” says Bob Wheeler, Airstream President and CEO.
“This new offering reflects our commitment to be nimble and react to the needs of current and future customers. We learned a lot – not only about the necessity of connectivity and options for increased power, but about the joy of closing your laptop and stepping out onto the trail.”
“They’d found a seamless transition between work and play and travel, and we wanted to find a way to bring the unique freedom of this work from anywhere lifestyle to the community, as well as to new audiences.”
