Designed by Masashi Miyata for Youlong Electrical Industrial, Oscar is a small portable air conditioner that can be used in areas where air conditioning is not normally available, even as a AC for pets.
The portable AC design has been recently awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
It features a robust shape with a slightly larger base to avoid tilting over accidentally.

An arched handle provides durability and can be handled from all directions. The metal material used in the handle can also be easily kept clean —helping with maintenance.
It comes with a lightweight 80-degree vertical range louver to set the direction of the cold air without having to move the machine and easily cooling the spot/direction it points at.
A 1.8L water tank is included for long time usage. This is especially useful when it is used as a pet AC as owners may be away for many hours.
A connectable water pipe is available for continuous operation without having to empty the water tank.
Oscar also has a dehumidification feature to lower humidity.
Green Concept: Oscar is designed for energy saving by giving an alternative to traditional AC that operates on an average of 100 watts per hour.
Consumers no longer need to turn on the room AC which costs much more energy when they only need a certain area or direction to be cooled down.
