With Modular, Luigi Trenti wanted to create something more than a mere pen. The goal was to conceive an original multifunctional tool, thin and slender, suitable for any occasion and type of user, for the organizer and for the desk, for writing, for drawing, for playing with it by disassembling and reassembling the various parts, creating one’s own personal version.
Modula has been awarded a 2023 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Modula has an aluminum body sculpted by the machining center, defined by six modules equal to each other, separated by grooves, whose angle of inclination echoes that of the tips.
Unscrewing the various modules one finds the cap, a Grafeex® tip, a ballpoint, and the spring clip module. Thanks to its modularity, Modula can be composed in a most useful way, for example, one can place the Grafeex® tip in front, or unscrew it and place it in the back, giving more importance to the ballpoint tip. The clip can also be removed if, for example, one uses a bag instead of a jacket pocket for carrying.
Electro-colored in three variants: blue, black, and red, thanks to its modularity it is possible to assemble versions with the modules of alternating colors, creating different versions, which can be exchanged for fun with friends or close people.
