Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Overlooking the Arabian Sea and perched on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the palm-tree-shaped man-made island in Dubai, Atlantis Royal by American Prize for Architecture Laureates Kohn Pedersen Fox finally made its grand reveal.
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the building is a powerful statement, a play of mass and light, even sensuous, curving toward the water with volumes stacked on top of one another.
Window fronts reflect the turquoise water and blue sky, giving the whole ensemble a glimmering, airy effect.
The Royal has a modern design with a neutral palette, white fabrics, dark wood, and lots of gold sparkling throughout.
A multiple-level pool is a highlight of the towering structure.
Every guest room has a balcony and stunning views of the island or the Dubai skyline.
The 11,000-square-foot Royal Mansion is where Beyonce herself stayed during the unveiling weekend.
Over a thousand celebrities and special guests attended the unveiling of Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal.
The pinnacle of the weekend was Beyonce’s first live performance since 2018, followed by Swedish House Mafia’s electronic music performance and firework display.
More than a hotel, the Royal is also a culinary destination: with world-renowned restaurants such as Tao Group Hospitality’s Ling Ling, José Andrés Jaleo, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, and Acurio’s Peruvian La Mar.
It is also a shopping destination with chic boutiques, luxury home decor stores, as well as unique boutiques of luxury brand names.
Service is at the forefront of the resort’s concept, both thoughtful and decadent.
Atlantis The Royal will officially open to guests this weekend.
