Michigan-based Landscape Forms Inc., North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design solutions for outdoor site furniture, advanced LED lighting, structures, and custom environments, has entered into a partnership with Loll Designs and Sesco Lighting, uniting forces for new and tremendous design synergies and possibilities in the design of outdoor furniture and lighting.
The new partnership has already won three Good Design Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum in 2020.
Speaking about the acquisitions of the two companies, Landscape Forms CEO Majorie Simmons states: “Coming together in a more formal way feels like a natural evolution in an already very successful relationship. “Our tenets as a company are design, culture, and craft, and in Loll Designs and Sesco Lighting, we’ve discovered a like-minded organization. We’re aligned with each other and share a mission.”
“Our furniture is for people who are looking for clean design from a company with a high level of environmental and social consciousness,” says Loll CEO Greg Benson.
“This has been our guiding principle and creative inspiration from day one. Landscape Forms shares these and many other values we care about, and will be a great partner as we take Loll to the next level.”
Led by Benson, Loll Designs is an award-winning designer and manufacturer of spirited, robust and highly-sustainable outdoor furniture, and shares a distinctly design-forward ethos with Landscape Forms. It is recognized worldwide for its contemporary designs and innovative use of recycled plastic – primarily from single-use milk jugs – in their products.
Orlando-based Sesco Lighting was founded over 50 years ago and steadily expanded its presence to become the country’s largest lighting manufacturers’ representative company.
John Palk, VP of Sales & Marketing at SESCO adds: “We are excited to add Landscape Forms to our offering as they strengthen our historic focus on providing clients with products that have the designer and built space in mind. Landscape Forms does this through integrated solutions ranging from furniture to lighting, all created with world-class design and technologies. We believe this will be a perfect fit and look forward to a future together.”
Three award-wining products have resulted from this new collaboration:
Designed by Justin Champaign, Motive luminaires are a comprehensive family of lights that emphasize the beauty of illumination and its interaction with architecture, objects and space. The Motive area light, path light, wall light, pendant light and dramatic outdoor floor lamp all work together to blur the line between indoor and outdoor luminaires and create out-of-the-ordinary settings.
Designed by Scott Klinker, Disc, Peak & Stretch are 100-percent cast and extruded aluminum sunshades inspired by the elegant simplicity of post and beam construction. The sunshades are recognized for their architectural and confidence-inspiring forms, clean and unobstructed interiors, and their beautifully simple and intuitive shelter experiences.
Designed by Jess Sorel, Link is an outdoor seating system that enables landscape architects to
achieve the scalability, elegance and creative freedom of custom, one-off site furnishings with the
added value and simplicity. Link’s uniquely adaptable design and modular components easily
accommodate the constraints and accentuate the nuances of any given site, both physically and
aesthetically.
Landscape Design’s Chief Creative Officer, Kirt Martin states. “These awarded products are achievements celebrated across all aspects of our company—from our design partners and internal design teams, to our product engineering and manufacturing teams, to our People Department and others working behind the scenes. They’re truly ‘team wins’, with each and every member of our operation having a direct hand in making it all happen.”
Landscape Design CEO Majorie Simmons adds that the collaborations with Loll and Sesco Lighting extend to a shared commitment to sustainability.
“Sustainability is foundational to who we are today and what we aspire to become in the future. It’s vital and therefore a top priority. We share a passion for the environment, another way we’re an ideal match.”
