Nanqiao, China
For this new project, Kris Lin used the modern design method—the four-in-one integrated design of architecture, landscape, interior, and home renovation—and the strong streamlined style is used to build a modern space culture atmosphere, creating a comprehensive landmark fashion and art urban sharing space for this commercial/cultural complex in Nanqiao, China.
His new building earned him a recent 2020 Good Design® Award from The Chicago Athenaeum.
The project is located in the main city area of Nanqiao, adjacent to the largest core business circle of Fengxia-Bailian Commercial Circle.
With high-quality geographical environment and facing the natural rivers and waterfront, it has a rich collection of natural landscape resources and cultural and artistic atmosphere at the same time.
The designer has fully considered the local natural greening and maximized its reservation.
Considering the singularity of the neighborhood community environment, the designer hopes to improve the surrounding human settlement environment and municipal conditions through this project by putting people first and construct a new urban development landscape.
The project is divided into two floors: the first floor is an outdoor art plaza and a reception hall with art and culture combined here.
There is an independent art and culture hall and a liquid concept coffee shop. In addition, it is equipped with a city meeting room, tea house, elderly health center, chess and card room, children’s talent classroom, fitness center and other functional spaces for people to engage with each other.
The second floor is the exhibition center and VIP reception room.
The collection of various functional spaces enriches the shared living experience and lifestyle of the community.
Antonio Gaudi Cornet once said that the straight line belongs to human beings, and the curve belongs to God.
The designer applies the natural element of “water” to the design of the building through the study of the geographical environment where the project is faced with water.
Unlike the simplicity of straight line, the curve provides a natural feminine feel, soft and round, dynamic and fluid. It became our main design language in this case.
Whether it is a natural landscape or a fluid building full of three-dimensional structures, the interpretation of the curve will present unique vitality and dynamics.
The designer combines curves with geometric shapes to create a streamlined architecture with a sense of technology and future, breaking the traditional concept of Founder architecture, incorporating streamlined fashion design into the architectural design, making the building full of rhythm and modern aesthetics like ocean waves.
The streamlined texture of the metal creates an exquisite and intimate atmosphere. With the smart design of the LED strip, it shows a simple and fashionable space temperament.
The design of the modern art aesthetics hall and multiple functionally interactive spaces with people and culture presents the contemporary humanistic fashion atmosphere.
Through a streamlined architectural language, the designer expresses the unique architectural personality, highlighting the scale and quality of the building and space, bringing a new place spirit to the land, building, and environment together, becoming an important symbol of urban development.
