Nanjing, China
Inspired by the hilly landscape of Nanjing, KLID (Kris Lin Interior Design) has created the White Mountain Club House for Galaxy Holding Group Property Co. Ltd., a series of fluid spaces that reactivate public space for the community.
White Mountain Club House has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Its indoor program includes activity center for kids, reading room, indoor swimming pool, gym, private banquet hall, coffee bar, and other activity areas.
Underground passages connect the project base and the surrounding communities, which contributes to increased accessibility.

In the future, an underground station will be constructed in this area, additionally making the club a transportation hub.
The project base is surrounded by mountains and the project is located underground.
Inspired by the shape of the rolling hills, KLID created a landscape-inspired building that extends down to the visual surface of the building.

In this way, the building’s perception of solidity is softened in order to fully integrate into the urban space.
The project aims to reactivate the public space for the community, transforming and redefining the previous residential conditions of the location.
It is intended that the clubhouse, as a place for exchanges and gatherings, can promote family and neighborhood relationships, becoming a city node with a social impact that stimulates public energy.
