Built on Kia’s revolutionary electric platform, the Kia Infotainment System and the Magenta Design Infotainment System created by Kia’s infotainment UX Development Team is an integrated multimedia system combining the concepts of information and entertainment and connecting the driver to the vehicle.

Kia Infotainment System and Magenta Design Infotainment System have recently been awarded a 2022 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Based on the black-based color that is seamlessly connected to the panoramic curved display, the thin and soft feeling that can be seen in the form of paper is the overall design theme, and a progressive image is realized with the key colors of green and violet.
Through these new attempts, Kia EV provides users with a future-oriented and diverse experience.

Within the larger paradigmatic shift towards eco-friendly vehicles, we wanted to create an infotainment system for Kia’s EV6 that conveys the characteristic power of electric energy, along with a sense of pure and sustainable nature.
Based on Neumorphism, the graphic theme of EV6 was created by placing various elements on a blank piece of paper, a space where anything can be drawn and created.
INNOVATION EV6’s cluster design departs from the circular graphics of internal combustion engine vehicles and focuses on developing graphics that are optimized for eco-friendly electric vehicles.

To do so, the team tested various shapes and forms by bending, folding, and unfolding a piece of paper, and used the inspiration from this process to create a new shape that reflects the flexibility unique to paper.
The result is a cluster design that takes the shape of a long piece of paper spread open and changes into lively shapes according to the driving mode.
The designer removed elements that are unnecessary in an electric vehicle like the RPM gauge and sought ways to intuitively convey optimized information to the driver while on the road.
The infotainment display is presented alongside the cluster, with each display horizontally positioned inside a single frame.
The wide and seamless interface aims to enable the driver to experience the digital display to the fullest.
