“one4two is our smallest project so far, but perhaps the most important one because it creates a new state of communication,” states Johann Traupmann, architect and founder of Pichler & Traupmann Architects.
Johann Traupmann’s one4two smart table by Braun Lockenhaus can be used as a stand or even a sit table with its height of barely more than one meter is a true all-rounder, ideal for everyone, focusing on participation and inclusion.
One4two smart table recently won a 2022 Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting from Global Design News The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
In addition to the classic high tabletop, Traupmann’s table model also has a lower tabletop, on which handicapped people – for example in a wheelchair – can place their drinks, food, or other personal belongings.
For the product development, a team of passionate creative minds was put together in order to develop the idea of this contemporary piece of furniture as closely as possible to customers’ needs.
During the development process of this project, Pichler & Traupmann Architects have collaborated with Hans-Jürgen Groß, accessibility expert and honorary president of the Austrian ÖZIV Burgenland, who has been working for years to enable people with disabilities as well as elderly people to participate fully in social life.
“This piece of furniture focuses on inclusion and makes ‘special solutions’ for handicapped people redundant. It sets new standards for networking or entertainment for everyone,” states Hans-Jürgen Groß.
One4two comes in various finishes of laminate in order to adapt to the color choices of the surrounding space.
The choice of different colors, decors, and materials guarantee individual freedom when it comes to design options.
