Jaime Hayón has expanded his 2014 Frames Collection for Spanish brand Expormim.
Because of its ecological approach, the new collection recently won a 2021 Good Design Award from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum.
Tradition and innovation melt into a new approach making outdoor furniture become a hybrid that penetrates and blends perfectly into indoor spaces.
Frames write a new chapter of an old story: that ancient tale of craftsmanship and tradition, but within a new framework, which deals with the material from the cheerful and insouciant perspective Hayón embodies so convincingly.
Frames chairs are made of rattan, with woven wicker backrests and upholstered seats all available in a variety of colors.
The armchair has a structure made of peeled and tinted natural rattan 32 mm/1.26” in diameter.
Seat and backrest manufactured in tinted natural wicker (“octagonal wicker”) and legs finished in rattan or steel.
Optional cushion with upholstery available in: natural or faux leather, virgin wool fabrics, velvet and polypropylene.
The coffee table is made of peeled and tinted natural rattan 18 mm/0.7” in diameter. Finished with a three-step coating (dye, base coat and top coat) highly resistant to solar radiation thanks to UV filters. Tabletop and central leg made of lacquered steel plate.

“Frames has written a happy new chapter for an already old story, the same old tale of craft and tradition but within a new framework of clever design that takes advantage of a different, more joyous approach to the material,” said Hayón.
