Designed by Jacques Fournier, known for his original designs and daring appeal, the new Racer Automatic watch for Swiss watch brand Wryst represents a new benchmark in contemporary watchmaking.
Fournier is celebrated for his commitment to bringing in novel materials and innovative designs in the industry.
Some of its key innovations include the introduction of 516L grade stainless steel for the manufacturing of timepieces whereas the majority of the watch brands use 316L.
The design of these wristwatches is mainly futuristic with some touches of traditional horology.
His new Wryst Automatic SX4 Racer is made of 516L stainless steel.
This timepiece has a diameter of 50mm, making it one of the imposing Men’s luxury watches available in the market. Although an extra-large mechanical watch, this creation offers optimum comfort around the wrists thanks to its ergonomic design features.
The watch is equipped with the well-acclaimed Sellita SW200-1 Swiss-made automatic movement. This self-winding caliber has a beat rate of 28,800 vpz (4Hz) and provides a power reserve up to 38 hours when fully wound. It powers the hour, minute, and center seconds hands as well as the date at 3 o’clock.
This workhorse caliber also offers Hacking Seconds, Quickset Date, and Hand-winding functions.
addition to its quickly identifiable exterior architecture, the Racer automatic timepiece incorporates several automobile-inspired elements.
For example, the intricate multi-layer dial includes designs inspired by vehicle engines, gears and pinions, steering wheels, analog dashboard indicators, seat-belt buckles, air vents and etc.
The strap attachment system, which ensures seamless fitment of the strap, is shaped after the camshafts used in internal combustion engines of automobile vehicles.
In addition, the new Wryst Automatic SX4 Racer variant highlights a vivid red tone that has been associated with motor racing for a long time. The Racing Red is the official color representing the Italian teams participating in the international motor racing events.
This shade is traditionally called Rosso Corsa in the Italian language. It is also the preferred color of world-renowned supercar brands like Ferrari and Alfa Romeo.
The innovative, double injection silicone bracelet of the timepiece boasts a vivid red tone with black border lines.
Usually, the dial of the Racer automatic watch possesses an industrial look with a neutral color theme, but the slight touches of red add some vibrancy to this new model.
