Athens, Greece
Greek architect, Ioannis Karalias, Museum Vice President and director of design for The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, has designed the Museum’s official Good Design® Bag to commemorate the 70-year anniversary of the historic program’s founding in 1950.
The luxurious all-leather collection is meant to inspire living in the present and existing in a time when the great design has the best of consequences.
The bags, which come in black and brown, are handcrafted in Greece by the best Greek leather craftsmen.
The bags can either be worn with a two-strap option as a shoulder or handbag or worn as a backpack.
Good Design wallets in the same color range are also available.
And as always, Mort Goldsholl’s original, timeless, and iconic Good Design logo from 1950 is either embossed or presented in cast aluminum as the ultimate signature and monogram.
“After all, to be able to move forward in design, we must learn how to look back and acknowledge the past,” states Karalias.
The bags are available at the Museum’s stores in Europe and the United States and can also be ordered online at Metropolitan Arts Press www.metropolitanartspress.com.
