Ukrainian architect and designer Victoria Yakusha has created for her brand Faina by Yakusha Studio an impressive yet minimalistic floor lamp named Soniah.
The name, which means sunflower in Ukrainian, stands as a symbol of the Ukrainian earth and is created from a sustainable material that is reminiscent of clay.
This material is called Ztista and is an invention of Faina and is a blend of upcycled steel, flax rubber, wood chips, cellulose, and clay all with biopolymer cover.
Soniah is part of Faina’s authentic collection of furniture, lighting, and décor.
The brand Faina represents modern Ukrainian design and reflects the strong social-cultural changes in the country.
The brand follows’s design philosophy that is based on research of millennia-old techniques, customs, and materials, seeking a connection with nature and sustainable creation.
