Charles Hesters and Pierre Martin-Saint-Etienne of HEMMA Architectes along with Atelier Florent Clier Paysage have designed the Music Conservatory of Poissy building aligned with the district’s urban architectural character using light-colored bricks and glass.

The Music Conservatory is organized in decrescendo between the 4-story apartment building and the individual houses that dot this district with its varied urban forms.

HEMAA Architectes has been recently awarded a Europe 40 Under 40® Award by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

The façade on the street is punctuated by two pavilions framing the caesura of the hall, the interior patio, and the garden in the heart.

This sequence of spaces makes it possible to introduce transparency from the street to the back of the plot.

The façades of the pavilions in bricks set the tone of an institution that is well integrated, with sobriety into the site.

The setback on the street and the implantation of the volumes allow for the clearing of a pedestrian square planted with trees.

This expansion of the public space offers a breather on the street and a secure forecourt towards the reception hall.

In contrast to the glass walls of the hall, the facades are clad with solid bricks.
