GROHE presents the new Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold products with a sustainable impact that can help reduce a building’s carbon footprint—particularly important since carbon emissions from buildings and construction constitute almost 40% of global carbon emissions.
GROHE Cradle to Cradle Certified Products’ design and sustainable concept recently won a 2022 Green Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Three faucet models: GROHE BauEdge S-Size, GROHE Eurosmart S-Size, and GROHE Eurosmart Kitchen as well as the GROHE Tempesta 100 shower rail set.
In contrast to the linear Take-Make-Waste model, Cradle to Cradle stands for continuous material cycles.
Each product is manufactured in such a way that, at the end of its life, the components can be used to create new products.
Since the building sector accounts for more than 50 percent of the worldwide material consumption, the rejection of the linear model toward a circular economy is essential to stop the exploitation of natural resources.
Next to the Cradle to Cradle certification, GROHE BauEdge and GROHE Eurosmart are enhanced with SilkMove ES technology.
It reduces the use of hot water by supplying only cold water with the faucet lever in the middle position which helps to reduce a building’s carbon footprint.
