The bold, monolithic form of Davis Furniture’s new Casen Lounge Collection encourages designers to blend the luxury of residential aesthetics with the pursuit of performance in the modern workplace.
This inaugural collaboration between the furniture manufacturer and the Norwegian design studio Anderssen + Voll resulted in a stately collection featuring a lounge chair, a love seat, and a sofa.
Casen has been awarded a Prize Design for Modern Furniture + Lighting 2023 by Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design.
A sculptural silhouette resting upon sleek metal legs, Casen’s spirit is articulated through its sophisticated elegance; meanwhile, a balanced tension between these modern yet classic elements creates a memorable piece that commands attention in any setting.
Anderssen + Voll’s sentiment of alluring animation is easily recognized through the lounge’s tailored outer arms and back design that seemingly envelopes the user in comfort and embrace.
Further emphasizing this idea of calming respite, the designers incorporated a generously deep seat with separate back cushions to convey an atmosphere of casual luxury.
The resulting collection effortlessly anchors space within various applications, from lounge areas to lobbies.
The collection’s three simple silhouettes, ranging from sofa to lounge chair, provide a straightforward solution and seamless integration into any lounge environment.
Casen’s sculptural cast aluminum base can be specified in polished or over 30 powder coat colors. Each piece’s back connects to its metal base through a unique detail that appears as if it is floating above its seat.
To further enhance the users’ experience, Anderssen + Voll incorporated additional back cushions fabricated with foam and down feathers, creating an alluring appeal of extravagance and luxury for the collection.
Casen’s elegance and visual weight infuse a sense of classic sophistication and grace into any interior, from commercial, hospitality, and even residential.
