Mogliano Veneto (TV), Italy
Valentina Gasparoni and Marin Chiaramonte design for Vetreria Vistosi a pendant lighting collection that exemplifies the company’s dedication to combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, resulting in lighting solutions that are both functional and artistically expressive.
Named the Plissé collection, it draws inspiration from the graceful movements of jellyfish, featuring a distinctive silhouette that combines blown glass with an internal fabric lampshade.
For its design conception, the Plissé Collection has been awarded with a prestigious 2024 Good Design Award by the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies
The generous dimensions of the blown glass diffuser ensure homogeneous light diffusion, enhancing the ambiance of the surrounding environment.
This design creates a captivating interplay of transparencies, shades, and textures, making Plissé an elegant addition to various interior spaces.
Available as a pendant lamp with an integrated LED light source, the Plissé collection offers both aesthetic appeal and energy efficiency.
The term “medusa” indeed comes from the ancient Greek “μέδουσα,” meaning protector or guardian.
According to Greek mythology, Medusa, even after being beheaded, never lost her ability to petrify with a single glance.
Plissé captures the attention of anyone who stops to observe it and enchants with its rounded silhouette: a closed circle, whose circularity conveys a sense of a completed and unique project, thanks to the overlapping of different materials—glass, fabric, and metal.
The generously sized blown glass diffuser hides an inner fabric lampshade and creates a play of transparencies, colors, and textures that make Plissé an elegant element.
Plissé is available as a suspension lamp, with the diffuser in dark amber, smoky, burnt earth, old green, or crystal.
The metal frame is finished in matt steel or matt bronze.
