Seeking a sensitive approach along with a progressive outlook for An Khanh New City Development Joint Venture headquarters, a real estate office, Vo Trong Nghia uses timber as the main building material to create a sustainable and easily maintainable building.
The Splendora Office has been awarded a 2023 International Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The project comprises two floors, with the ground floor being used for reception, working spaces, and management rooms and the first floor being used mainly as working space.
All timber used for this project is grown by local hands; therefore, there is no deforestation involved in the sourcing and producing of such a material.
There are 52 timber frame structures, which exceed 10.3 meters high, creating an enclosed space, the center of which is transformed into a small garden, which helps with fresh air and a nice view.
In addition, the project is placed intentionally on an artificial water body, which helps with thermal comfort for the surrounding area.
Roof extruding outwards showcases openness to visitors.
