Nina Magon of Nina Magon Studio has created this hanging lamp for Studio M Lighting that uses glass, brass, and leather to create a one-of-a-kind, statement piece for any setting.
Stratum is made of clear slabs of glass a half-inch thick that are pressed together between two discs finished in Natural Aged Brass.
As the glass approaches the center, each slab of glass increases in dimension creating a gradation of light revealing the glasses’ shape and character.
Stratum has recently been awarded a 2022 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Dedicated LED lighting emits from concealed polycarbonate tubes evenly distributing the light source in all directions.
These LED tubes terminate at brass discs supported by Dark Brown leather straps that both suspend the pendants and conceal the electrical wiring stitched within them.
