Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby the new bathroom collection that AXOR has developed with the British design team is based on an interactive operating element for the shower from the year 2015 and an accompanying handheld shower head that came on the market in 2017.
When it launched in early 2015, Axor One was the first control of its kind: the Axor One, 2015 Hansgrohe Chrome-plated brass.
The thinking behind the Axor One shower control unit was to consolidate multiple individual bathroom operations – water outlet activation, volume regulation and temperature —within a single device, optimizing functionality and creating visual clarity.
Now, Hansgrohe has introduced an entirely new bathroom collection with supplementary products for sink units, bathtubs and showers in its range, which all respond to the initially posed question with minimalist design and intuitive operation.
And with great, but subtle vigor, Barber Osgerby’s new AXOR products score points for their ingenious technology and timeless design.
The new AXOR One assortment” comprises a total of 31 products, including a one-hole, two-hole and three-hole wash basin fitting, fittings for wall-mounting, and a floor-standing bathtub fitting with a hand shower.
All these are perfectly complemented by the AXOR Universal Circular Accessories range, which was likewise designed by Barber Osgerby and is the perfect addition to the “AXOR One” collection with wall and shaving mirrors, towel rails, shower shelves and more.
AXOR Onis characterized by slender silhouettes, flat surfaces and soft edges.
Here, subtle details are likewise convincing, like the gentle tapering of the fittings to their curved ends in a unified design language of slender silhouettes, flat surfaces, soft corners and balanced proportions.
The gentle taper to the faucet’s curved spout accentuates this minimalist aesthetic.
The overhead showers and hand-held showers feature monolithic forms with spray discs that hint at the rain or powdertain spray types available. a slim, all-in-one showerpipe combines the overhead shower, hand-held shower, wall bar and wall outlet for a clean look.
At the same time, the individual elements are perfectly tailored to one another and are available with the surfaces Chrome, Matt Black, or bespoke AXOR FinishPlussurfaces.
This way, the new collection attains points not only for its technology, but also with a high aesthetic design language that gives the fixtures, showers and accessories an ageless appearance while skillfully confronting the design challenge of the new archetype.
