Creating a new paradigm for city spaces, the Future City Art Design Center of Hyper City by the East China Architectural Design and Research Institute, the SWS Group, and Da Yue Design, represents a visionary concept combining avant-garde architecture, technology, and sustainable living.
The project is located in the core area of Jinqiao Sub-center in Shanghai, China, as the brand experience center of the meta-center project.
The demonstration area shows the core purpose of the meta-center project through the integration of architecture and landscape, that is, to create a new urban model for the future, presenting diversified experience spaces such as exhibition halls, sales offices, model houses, and ecological experience.
The project has been awarded a 2024 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Architecture, landscape and interior design are inseparable from each other to present a complete work.
The base of the project is located on the south-facing street corner, on the north side of Central Park, the overall longitudinal shape, covering an area of about 23,000 square meters.
The design of the streamlined flat configuration is inspired by the brand logo of Jinhuan.
Through the disassembly and reset of the two-dimensional graphics, three functional rings, “Prologue Ring,” “Ecological Ring” and “Experience Ring,” are formed in a continuous and intersecting way to form a smooth and continuous tthe route, so as to connect multiple functional modules.
By stretching and rotating the space of the ring longitudinally, two roof trusses are formed.
The interior space is enclosed by a curved glass curtain wall, which increases the sense of suspension of the roof.
It exudes its unique charm in the interplay of natural light and shadow.
The transparent and lightweight mass and the sight guidance of the C-shaped semi-enclosed roof truss allow the building to integrate with the surrounding environment.
The whiteness of the building and the green of nature mingle with each other, taking a secluded place in the busy city, which is the northward spread of Central Park.
The roof truss adopts an open curtain wall system.
On the two roofs, combined with the structural skeleton, several curved openings are arranged to meet the floodlight design effect of indirect lighting.
And through the three modulus roof opening sizes, to correspond to different flood lamps, to achieve a gradient effect while perfectly hiding the lamps.
The inner roof of the vertical seam is connected to the annular drainage to form a roof water diversion system, and organized stormwater drainage is achieved through storm drainage pipes located at the low points at both ends of the roof.
The arrangement of the rainwater pipes combined with the overall column network plane is cleverly hidden in the column network system.
Landscape architects use modern abstract techniques to outline the forms of land, forest and water around three functional rings, forming a landscape space with a sense of rhythm.
The linear landscape paving serves as a guide to the tthe path, creating a dynamic spatial experience.
