Baiersdorf, Germany
Manufactured by Bauhaus Walter Gropius – A division of MTR24 company and designed by Daniel Eltner, the new Kontur watch emphasizes on design excellence, high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
The kontur (contour), as the outline of an object or form, was used at the Bauhaus as a means of reduction and abstraction.

For its prime design, the Walter Gropius – Kontur Automatic Watch has received a 2024 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Artists and designers at the Bauhaus strove for functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions, and the clear delineation of forms through contours made it possible to precise definitions of structures.

The minimalistic glass and steel architecture of the Bauhaus & New Bauhaus has been a godfather for the new automatic watch Kontur from Walter Gropius Germany.
The skeletonized hands are describing the perspective of architecture, space & time. The white “windows” are filled with Swiss SuperLuminova and glow during the night.
At all minimalism, this watch portrays a character of high functionality and precision, automatically.
The red second hand is turning around the minute and hour hand like a figurine of the “Triadic Ballet” from Oskar Schlemmer.
The three reduced watch hands symbolize ourselves in maximum freedom to move in space & time at all individuality.
