Copenhagen, Denmark
It’s constructed between an inner circle and outer ellipse in one lamp and transmits the hidden light source between the inner and outer layers, creating a highly emotive feeling.
The BE60 recently won a 2020 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum.
From the front, the lamp seems to be an ellipse; from the top or bottom, a circle. The effect is as much of a pendant as a sculpture.
The inner shade layer directs the light to the outer shade layer, thereby giving a unique indirect light from both shade layers.
The light source is not visible but reflects a pleasant indirect light to the 2 shade layers. BE60 will change appearance when you move around and sculptures the light so the viewer constantly gets new shapes of light and form to immerse in.
The intersection between uncompromised functionality and playful esthetics as a sculpture of light in space provides changing shapes and form around the pendant.
The BE60 has full functional light downward, and an acrylic diffuse shade, for hanging it high.
The Pendant is composed of 40pcs of laser cut aluminum, with Chrome or White finish. Size: Ø600 mm x 300mm high.
