Located along the Northern California coastline, this single-family residence harmonizes with its surroundings.

Situated within a forest enclave and overlooking a scenic golf course, the home features large expanses of glass, revealing panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and connecting the indoors with the surrounding nature.

Monterey Residence by Landry Design Group, Inc. , received an 2025 American Architecture Honourable Mention from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

The design of the home was influenced by the owner’s passion for golf. Inspiration was drew from the sweeping arc of a golf ball in flight, incorporating its architectural geometry into the exterior and adding it to various design elements in the interior.

Custom-designed metal screens were used with this decorative element in the front elevation to provide privacy, which allowed to incorporate large glass panels and maintain a connection with the outdoors.

The same type of metal screen is used in the two-story glass stair tower, transforming it into a contrasting sculptural detail incorporated into the exterior.

A backlit carved relief displaying the same geometric arcs provides an artistic focal point on the wall concealing the TV above the fireplace in the two-story living room.

An interior bridge connects the upper-floor primary suite to the remaining bedrooms.

Natural materials with earth tones and various textures were used throughout. The wood ceiling and the exterior stone carry inside, creating an illusion of transparency.

The design provides each space with views of the surrounding landscape or the ocean beyond, allowing it to maintain a connection with nature.
