Pregnana Milanese (MI), Italy

Designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua with Paolo Dell’Elce, the Copernico Suspension by Artemide is far more than a lighting fixture—it is a kinetic sculpture that redefines how light interacts with space.
Created with nine concentric elliptical rings crafted from a single aluminum plate, this innovative suspension lamp combines engineering precision with artistic expression.
At the heart of its design is a sophisticated system of 384 white LEDs, seamlessly integrated into the structure.
Each ellipse can rotate independently along two axes, allowing users to shape and direct the light in multiple ways.
This dynamic movement creates ever-changing spatial compositions, transforming the lamp into an interactive centerpiece that adapts to its environment.

When closed, the Copernico Suspension becomes completely flat, offering a minimalist profile that contrasts beautifully with its complex functionality when opened. This duality—between simplicity and transformation—is what makes the piece truly remarkable.
Available in refined finishes such as black and silver grey, the lamp delivers a balanced general light distribution, making it suitable for large living areas, dining rooms, or architectural spaces that demand both illumination and visual impact.
UL listed for safety and widely praised for its originality, the Copernico Suspension stands as a testament to contemporary design—where technology, motion, and light converge into a mesmerizing work of art.
