Barcelona-based Architectura-G studio has completed recently the interior of Acne Studio’s newly expanded store in Greene Str., Soho. The architectural team notes that its retail interior for Acne Studios is “informed by juxtapositions.”

Surfaces with sharp edges are paired against a soft mantle of wall-to-wall carpet. meanwhile, a contemporary wash of mint is applied to the original industrial features which recall the heritage of the building and surrounding neighborhood.
The architects worked closely with Jonny Johansson, creative director of Acne Studios and this resulted in an exploration of translucency, and an assemblage of sharp, angular geometries.

The interior takes shape as an artificial landscape of glass panels, softened by the field of tufted wool carpeting by Swedish rug and textile flooring company Kasthall, who regularly partners with Acne Studios.

The graphic lighting overhead further emphasizes the industrial language of the neighborhood and was created by french studio Benoit Lalloz, another longtime collaborator.
