Marcelo Alvarenga, Santo Agostinho, and Minas Gerais of Play Arquitetura design the Mantis faucet line for DOCOL, turning ideas into high-quality products for everyday life.
Mantis by Play Arquitetura was awarded a 2021 Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
To open new paths, in another expression of its pioneering spirit and history of great design, the brand invited some of the most recognized names in architecture and design to create unique products.
Among them, the renowned architecture office Play Architecture created an exciting product that associates the DOCOL standard of excellence with the brand’s form of expression.
“A piece without a defined time”, is how the architect Marcelo Alvarenga of Play Architecture defines the Mantis line.
The long and organic body evokes a certain nostalgic moment, while the shape and texture of the wheel refer to the preciousness of a jewel.
“We think that the spout’s super long design, with a slight inclination, reminds us of the delicacy and elegance of these insects”, says the architect about his exclusive creation for Docol.
The line has two faucet models – table and wall – in identical shapes to the table single lever.
Memorable and unmistakable, the Mantis line reflects the elegance of the architects’ look added to the quality and technological innovation present in Docol’s DNA.
The line is perfect for environments that seek personality, bringing together design and technology and proposing a dialogue between art and architecture.
Lavatory Wall-mount Tap, Lavatory Tap, and Washbain mix Tap are available in the exclusive colors: DocolChroma Copper, Graphite, Gold, and Chrome.
A unique fixing system eliminates the use of trims or flanges next to the wall, maintaining the fluidity of the forms and guaranteeing the freedom of composition of the architecture project.
Highly-durable, bi-nickel chrome plated finishing with greater corrosion resistance, insure that the beauty and shine of the product are preserved for a much longer time.
