“I wanted to give a bit of life to the bin, the object that sometimes gets forgotten in the kitchen,” says Saraiva.
“This collaboration is a celebration of all the love that takes place in a kitchen. The love for food, for cooking and sharing it with your loved ones, and the leftovers go into the bin!”
Graphic designer and street artist André Saraiva collaborates with the Danish homeware brand Vipp to create a collection of homeware products and furniture that are decorated with Saraiva’s colorful and playful street art designs.
The initial collaboration between the Danish company and the artist started a couple of years ago when the artist commissioned some Vipp pedal bins for his Hotel Amour project, in Paris.
The Amour collection is a limited edition series and consists of a number of pedal bins and kitchen islands in baby pink color decorated with the typical, playful Saraiva’s top-hatted figures.
As one of the most important street artists, André Saraiva redefined the art of graffiti with his whimsical iconography and vibrant palette of candy pink, a color that is pretty much taboo in the graffiti world.
