Prototype Sales Gallery + Experience Centre by Alan Tay and Seetoh Kum Loon of Formwerkz Architects is a sales gallery design prototype implemented for the launch of Seedland Real Estate Development Co. Ltd.’s development in Chang Shou, Chong Qing. 

The client wanted the design to convey their vision of the future of living where life is empowered by technology. 

The Prototype Sales Gallery +Experience Center transforms the ubiquitous box into something more.

The sales gallery interior is a highly curated sequence of spaces of consumption, an introverted and immersive environment to effectively communicate to the visitors the visions of the development company.

The Prototype Sales Gallery +Experience Center has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Awards Honorable Mention by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The facade is conceived as an ephemeral skin.

A reflective anodized aluminum surface drapes the exterior of the largely introverted box and exudes a sense of lightness and ephemerality. 

It mirrors the time of day, a smile of an unsuspecting passerby, the seasons, and the fleeting and ever-changing suburb as the development takes root. 

The building aspires to envision the future, while at the same time it is entrenched in and engages with the present and the everyday.
