Xi’an, China
Located in Xi’an Valley City, Aedas along with Bowan Architecture has elaborated a massive development creating a dynamic neighborhood with diversified programs and functions, successfully making an urban mixed-use hub containing workplaces, retail, hospitality, and housing.

Xi’an Valley City project has recently been awarded a 2022 International Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The tower façade design draws inspiration from the ancient Qin Dynasty armor, which is a unique symbol of Xi’an.

Its proportions, rounded corners, as well as interlocking textures of curtain wall units, express the detail and charm of the ‘armor.’
The tower’s mass is carved out and a sky lobby box is introduced, responding to the programmatic separation of office and hotel for the tower.
With a good combination of cold and warm materials, solid and void masses, as well as rich details, the building achieves an invigorating and stylish atmosphere.
The continuous decorative canopy integrates the entire commercial blocks, while the commercial podium creates a vivid neighborhood.
