Baghdad, Iraq

Set against the vibrant and historic backdrop of Baghdad, Buruj Hotel is a visionary hospitality destination redefining luxury and connection in Iraq’s capital. This iconic project transforms Buruj Gateway into a cultural and architectural landmark, blending the ancient legacy of the “Cradle of Civilization” with a bold vision for the future.
Buruj Hotel won an 2025 International Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
Rooted in Baghdad’s rich narrative, Buruj Hotel celebrates the duality of tradition and innovation. Its design pays homage to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the lifeblood of the region for centuries, through its twin-tower structure. Fluid architectural forms mimic the rivers’ flowing energy, while the space between the towers symbolizes the fertile lands that have sustained countless generations. Every element, from the exterior facade to the interior spaces, reflects this dynamic story. Soft, layered lines meet light-infused interiors, creating an environment that evokes both tranquility and movement.

The hotel is designed to offer a world-class experience, featuring 288 guestrooms and 28 serviced apartments. Its amenities, carefully curated to meet the expectations of global travelers, include a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views, a wellness suite featuring a pool and gym, and sophisticated meeting and event spaces that redefine business and leisure hospitality in the city of Baghdad. Retail areas and lush, green rooftops further enhance the site, making it a destination that converges luxury with community.
At its heart, Buruj Hotel prioritizes sustainability and innovation. Its design incorporates passive cooling strategies and renewable energy solutions, ensuring reduced environmental impact without compromising comfort. Green rooftops, local flora, and advanced building management systems come together to create a development that not only complements Baghdad’s urban fabric but also contributes to its ecological resilience.

The integration of safety and technology elevates Buruj Hotel into a state-of-the-art structure. Advanced fire prevention systems, comprehensive security measures, and seamless digital connectivity provide guests with peace of mind and a streamlined experience.
Drawing on the legacy of Baghdad’s cultural prominence, Buruj Hotel seeks to rekindle its reputation as a global hub for learning, commerce, and connection. By honoring its historical context and embracing modernity, Buruj Hotel is more than a building—it is a destination, a story, and a symbol of Baghdad’s enduring spirit and bright future.
