Conceived from an idea by Alessandro Mendini, Ramun’s 7 Stars collection transforms lighting into a poetic and emotional experience.
Inspired by the Big Dipper constellation, the project brings together seven internationally renowned designers, artists, and architects, each invited to interpret a symbolic “star” within a shared vision.
Rather than presenting a conventional lighting series, 7 Stars unfolds gradually as an evolving narrative, with each lamp released over time as a new chapter in the constellation.
The collection is rooted in a universal concept: light as a comforting and protective presence in everyday life. Each object is conceived not simply as a source of illumination, but as a silent companion capable of creating emotional well-being within domestic spaces.

Mendini imagined light as something symbolic — an element that guides, reassures, and accompanies intimate moments of life.
To enrich this idea further, every lamp integrates a sound component, allowing light and music to interact in delicate balance. The result is a multisensory experience that creates immersive and calming atmospheres.
Although each designer brings a unique visual language to the collection, all the lamps share the same advanced technical principles, including precise dimming control, flicker-free emission, and careful attention to visual comfort.
This balance between technological consistency and creative freedom gives the collection both coherence and diversity.

The first chapter of the project is Campanello, designed by Mendini himself for Italy. Conceived as the symbolic origin of the constellation, the lamp embodies the collection’s emotional core.
Its name recalls the simple gesture of ringing a bell, evoking ideas of welcome, familiarity, and connection. Combined with the delicate melody of a music box, the lamp transforms light into an intimate sensory experience.
The Dutch contribution to the constellation comes from Marcel Wanders with Bella, developed in two complementary versions: Plissé and Crystal Cut. Inspired by the double stars Mizar and Alcor, the project explores two interpretations of the same identity.
While Plissé diffuses a soft and enveloping light for larger interiors, Crystal Cut offers a more compact and expressive presence.

Its faceted structure refracts light into prismatic reflections, transforming illumination into a decorative element capable of reshaping the surrounding atmosphere.
For France, Jean-Marie Massaud designed Louise, a lamp defined by balance, restraint, and essential forms. Here, light becomes subtle and contemplative, creating a quiet atmosphere that emphasizes comfort and well-being.
Founded under Mendini’s creative direction, RAMUN combines innovation with emotional storytelling.
Originally conceived as objects of protection and good fortune for the designer’s family, Ramun lamps continue to prioritize eye health while celebrating light as a deeply human and emotional presence.
